BIOGRAPHY
DOTT. MICHELE CONTI
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1996 at the University of Verona and he got the Specialization in Neurosurgery in 2001 with full marks (50/50) at the same site with Prof. Bricolo, doing an anatomical thesis on cadaver on the vascularization of cranial nerves in the cavernous sinus.
Between 1996 and 2001 he has been a Neurosurgery Resident in the Department of Verona.

From October 2001 to April 2010 he worked at the Neurosurgery of St. Maurice Hospital in Bolzano, as Medical Director.
From May to September 2003 he collaborated with Dr. Mario Vitale to the opening of the neurosurgical center of Villa Maria Cecilia in Cotignola (Ravenna).
From March 2004 to January 2008 he was consultant for the Hospital of Bolzano at the Hospital of Trento and Rovereto.
Since 2004 he has performed numerous interventions as the sole referent with the ENT chiefs of Trento (Dr. C. Grandi) and Rovereto, (Dr. M. Beltrame), oto-neurosurgical interventions of tumor pathology of the basicranium, performing neurosurgical time.
He has also performed numerous surgeries of the spine, both cervical and lumbosacral, for traumatological and degenerative pathology, in collaboration with fellow orthopedist Dr. G. Spagnolli at the Department of Orthopedics of Rovereto, directed by Dr. P. Dorigotti.
Since May 2010, he has been the Head of Neurosurgery at the Rovereto Hospital within the Department of Specialty Surgeries consisting of the same Department, the Operating Units of Orthopedics, ENT and Ophthalmology.
Since January 2015 he has been in charge of the Operative Units of Spinal Surgery at the Madonna della Salute nursing home in Porto Viro.
Since April 2017, he has been in charge of the Vertebral Surgery Operating Units at the Pederzoli Hospital in Peschiera del Garda.
In 2020 co-founder of Get Well Spine Center (Rovereto) and beginning of surgical activity at City Clinic (Bolzano).
Experience abroad
In 2001 he attended the University Department of Neurosurgery of Nantes in France, carrying out anatomical studies on cadavers and training in spine surgery, performing surgery in first person with the assistance of Alexis Faure (creator of occipito-cervical stabilization) and Prof. Rogez Robert (famous French anatomist and maximum national reference for cervical spine surgery).
Between 2001 and 2002 he was Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the CHU of Nantes France.
In May-June 2007, in team with Dr. Grandi, head of ENT of Trento, he attended the oto-neurosurgery department of Pittsburgh (USA) for basicranium oto-neurosurgery, directed by C. Snyderman (ENT) and A. Kassam (NCH), learning the combined endoscopic technique for skull base tumor pathology.
Scientific awards won
In 2002 he won the poster session of the SINCH National Congress in Bolzano with a cadaveric work on the anatomy of the cavernous sinus.
Scientific activity
He has collaborated with the French group of Prof. Robert in numerous scientific works both for congress activities and scientific publications. Congresses held in Spain and France by Alexis Faure with his collaboration, dealt with spine surgery in childhood and adolescence.
Author of numerous scientific papers published in international journals.
Speaker at numerous international congresses in the field of orthopedic neurosurgery and neuroscience.
Reviewer and member of the editorial board of international journals such as: "Surgical Innovation" and "Edorium Journal of Surgery".
Native Italian speaker, fluent in German, English and French.
